Principal Engineer / Technical Lead
Responsibilities:
- Triage and resolve production incidents and ensure lower MTTI and MTTR to meet system stability, availability SLAs
- Debug production issues effectively, leveraging APM tools such as new relic, trace transactions across various systems, provide short term / long term fixes based on the Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Dive deep into each issue, own reactive fixes, and execute long term fixes. Assist other Support Engineers on complex RCA issues
- Improve the quality and performance of various applications and services in the ecosystem
- Collaborate closely with the service team engineers and architects to develop effective permanent technical solutions, solving complex problems in the platform and driving execution to closure.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership to deliver viable solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements. Drive the most viable technical solution to solve business needs by paying attention to functional and nonfunctional requirements while providing the hands-on technical leadership to implement the same.
- Own the engineering excellence and operational readiness of the service driving the SLO, SLI, SLA of the relevant services
- Take ownership to drive quality of the services through design, development, and testing.
- Oversee all microservices within your purview, ensuring all the ilities of service, quality security, availability, scalability, security, etc.
- Teach, mentor, grow, and provide advice to other domain experts, individual contributors, across several teams in live markets.
- Establishing various best practices for software development and encouraging their adoption with the team and organization
- Help develop and improve the overall technical direction of the organization including driving/ building best -in-class engineering practices and automation.
- Collaborate with other non-technical stakeholders, including the business which includes Product Managers, Designers, Marketing teams etc.
- Work closely with the Operational teams and provide L3 engineering support to the Platform.
Requirements:
- At least 12+ Years’ of hands-on coding experience with passion and a track record of handling various deliveries, of which 5+ years of relevant Tech Lead role.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on coding experience, with a strong emphasis on Java and Go for backend development, as well as React and/or native app development for frontend.
- Proven experience in debugging production issues and a strong ability to read and interpret APM tools like New Relic
- Hands-on experience with using logging systems like OpenSearch, to search for logs and triage problems in matter of minutes in live sessions.
- Strong design and architectural experience in building various highly scalable and highly available products on cloud.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC Activities which include Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Post-Production Support etc.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written to communicate with team members as well as the leadership team of VP and above.
- Strong people management skills to lead and build a high-performing team.
- Experience in collaborating with Product teams and Delivery Managers.
- Experience in a product-based / hyper-growth environment is highly advantageous.
- Experience in Micro Serviced based development.
- Experience in Web Frontend applications and / or Mobile front-end.
- Working knowledge in Domain driven development would be an advantage.
- Prior experience in the telecom domain would be an advantage.
- Experience with Data and AI will be an added advantage.
